Alright - Usually my little spiel is at the bottom but I have to issue a warning. There are A LOT of pictures. So grab a cuppa and a little bite to nibble cause this will take a little time.
Thanks for your patience, I hope you make it through! (Hey, its yosemite and every view is beautiful)
SO, I recently adventured to Yosemite with my parents. We camped in the valley floor and hiked, biked and swam the four days away. It was beautiful and everything I hope a camping experience to be.
We've been camping in Yosemite since I was a little kiddie and Ive always felt at home and rejuvenated in the Merced. My mom says it must be my spirit river and I think she's right. The waters up here in the Sierras are brisk, bright and beautiful and I love spending hours in them.
After doing the normal day of biking, hiking and rafting, we decided to take a trip up to Tuolumne Meadows. We enjoyed a small hike and explore and started planning our next camp out. Later in the afternoon we stopped at Tenaya lake and walked the .1 Mi to the beach. As the trees opened onto the sandy beach my heart skipped a beat. Oh. MY. Lord. I was in LOVE. The mountains, blue green waters and calm sandy beach stole my heart and I don't think a smile left my face our whole visit. I felt a relief wash over me as I swam and played in the most refreshing water I've ever touched. Sadly we had to get back to our camp and start dinner but I promised myself I'd get back there ASAP. (please take me)
After a morning of pictures and one last bike excursion we had to leave. Right before the turn off to Wawona I felt I had to dip my feet in the Merced once more. I needed to say goodbye to my beloved river. We pulled off the road and scrambled down to the rivers edge and put our feet in. Each having a quiet moment reflecting on our surroundings and how near the time was to leaving it. I said goodbye to my waters and we went on our way home.
Marty went camping too.
