This is a little bit unorthodox for what I usually post on here so stick with me.
This past weekend I had a blast spending time with one of my mothers oldest and dearest friends. I watched them pick up where they left off without skipping a beat. While their lives have taken them to so many different places, states, relationships, health issues and family, It made me realize how special their friendship is. It reminded me that keeping in contact takes work, it takes acceptance of change. Friendship can withstand the miles you move, and the life events you live through. I hope that one day I look back on my friendship the way that my Mom and her friend can. I hope then I am proud of the miles we've traveled and the mountains we've scaled.
So, I’m here to remind you, If you have let a friendship slip away because of life turbulence or the years have just piled up, It isn’t too late to write out a letter and text it, email it or snail mail it. (Just don’t forget the postage) Give it a try, maybe picking up where you left off isn’t as hard as you think.
